72nd Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival

Despite the difficulties provided by Covid 19, BSHLMC students still managed to represent our school in the 72nd Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival. The chosen students practiced with their English teachers at school and rehearsed at home in their own time. This year the contest was not held in front of a live audience, instead the students were recorded at school performing their chosen pieces and their videos were submitted to the Hong Kong Speech Festival judges.

Seven students competed in three sections, Solo Verse, Prose Reading and Dramatic Duologue. Wan Cheuk Yin, Chan Wing Lam Bethany and Sandhu Jasan Preet Kaur were awarded merit certificates in the Solo Verse. Chow Shing Keung and Chan Cheuk Hin also received merit certificates for their efforts in the Dramatic Duologue. In addition, Siu Tsz Ching and Chow Chong Hang were presented with proficiency certificates for the Prose Reading and the Solo Verse respectively.

We would like to commend all students for their dedication and commitment to English language and public speaking and also to congratulate them for their achievements in the speech festival. Next year we hope to see them as well as some new faces on stage in the 73rd Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival.
